Pennsylvania Fugitive Arrested With Drugs, Loaded Handgun In Atlantic City: Police

A motor vehicle stop in Atlantic City resulted in the arrest of a man wanted in Pennsylvania and the recovery of a handgun and drugs, authorities said.

At 9:06 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, Officer Matthew Talavera conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 2000 block of Atlantic Avenue. 

 During the stop, Jovy Delphine was placed in custody after being found in possession of a loaded handgun, police said.

K-9 Officer Jesse Oliver-Logan and his K-9 partner Gee assisted. K-9 Gee, trained in narcotics detection, indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, police said.

Officers reportedly located more than 21 grams of cocaine and several loaded high-capacity magazines in the vehicle. Delphine, who initially provided false information, was found to have an active arrest warrant from Norristown, PA, police said.

Delphine, 27, of Philadelphia, was charged with several drug and weapons offenses as well as hindering apprehension, and fugitive from justice.

Delphine was being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
